KM4K FAIR JANUARY 15TH FROM 5-7 PM AT DOUSMAN ELEMENTARY!!! RSVP NOW https://forms.gle/p2zHhpJKobfE23428!!! Learn more about four-year-old kindergarten in the Kettle Moraine School District! This annual event is fun and informative for young learners and their families. Kettle Moraine’s 4K program strives to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning! Providing this programming to our community is an integral way to connect our youngest learners and families to our school district and prepare them for Kindergarten. The event will feature a supervised 4K room so kids can interact and play while parents speak with educators, principals, and directors from our 4K programs. The open house format features booths from each of our elementary sites and wrap-around care partners, allowing you to find the right option for your family. Watch for the next issue of the Communicator to learn more about learning targets in KM4K and how this experience prepares children for school, helps them develop social skills, and provides them with lots of exercise and engagement!!! To learn more about KM4K, visit https://www.kmsd.edu/o/kmsd/page/about-km4k, or contact our 4K Director, Justin Nies, at niesjustin@kmsd.edu.

KM ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND KMHS STUDENT GOVERNMENT NEED YOUR SHOE BOXES AND YOUR DONATIONS!!! KM elementary schools and high school student government are participating in a Friendsgiving collection that will conclude on November 26th. Donated or purchased items will be collected into shoe boxes. These "shoe boxes for Santa" will then be personally delivered to students at WD Williams Elementary School in Swannanoa North Carolina. These students have been terribly impacted by hurricanes, tornados, and flooding. Most were left with nothing. Our goal is to gather up much-needed clothing items like hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, and also a few fun things like toys, art supplies, or puzzles. The school has 450 students at 4 elementary schools, so our goal is to meet and even exceed that need. Drop off your donations at any KM elementary school or at KMHS!

KM LEADERSHIP CLASS SHARES THEIR STORY!!! Each year, Mr. Bestor's leadership students write and design their own children's books and read them to KM Explore students. It is a wonderful mentorship opportunity and our high school students really benefit from the input of younger learners on their work.

KM ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND KMHS STUDENT GOVERNMENT LAUNCH HUGE GIFT COLLECTION FOR PARTNER SCHOOL IMPACTED BY HURRICANES!!! All of our KM elementary schools and our high school student government will be participating in a Friendsgiving collection that will conclude on November 26th. Donated or purchased items will be collected into shoe boxes and organized by age and gender. These "shoe boxes for Santa" will then be personally delivered by a friend of Mrs. Cavanaugh to students at WD Williams Elementary School in Swannanoa North Carolina. These students have been terribly impacted by hurricanes, tornados, and flooding. Most were left with nothing. Our goal is to gather up much-needed clothing items like hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, and also a few fun things like toys, art supplies, or puzzles. These items will be collected and wrapped in shoe box care packages. The school has 450 students at 4 elementary schools. If we are able to build more than 450 boxes, we will share our extras with other schools in the area. All items must be collected by November 26th, as they will be driven down to North Carolina and delivered by December 4th. We are also going to need wrapping paper, shoe boxes, and labels for packaging our gifts.
