​KMHS AND PERFORM STUDENTS RECOGNIZED FOR ARTISTIC TALENT!!!! The nationally run and recognized art competition, Scholastics Arts and Writing Awards, has announced their winners at the state level. KMHS has an amazing showing this year with 3 Gold Keys, 2 Silver Keys and 5 Honorable Mentions. The Gold and Silver Key winners will have their artwork displayed at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The Gold Keys will continue on to the national competition in NYC. This is a very competitive art competition and a huge honor for all the artists. The Scholastic Art Awards: Wisconsin Exhibition will be on-view from February 24 through April 7, 2024, in Schroeder Galleria at the Milwaukee Art Museum. STELLMACHER NAMED WASBO SCHOOL BUSINESS MANAGER OF THE YEAR!!!
KM CFO John Stellmacher was awarded Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) 2024 School Business Manager of the Year today at their State Convention. The ceremony, held at the Milwaukee Hilton, drew school superintendents and business managers from across the state. A former WASBO President, and critical advocate for educational funding, Stellmacher has been a leader in Wisconsin education. Stellmacher is a frequent presenter at both WASBO and WASB conferences. He mentors countless business managers and provides instrumental support to the Southeast Wisconsin Schools Alliance (SWSA), advising on fiscal solvency and providing quality education efficiently.

New Student Registration should not be confused with the annual registration that occurs every summer for students who completed the previous year at a KMSD school. IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR STUDENT DRIVERS – DRIVE SAFELY AND SLOWLY!!! Take particular care on highway 18 and the roundabouts at the intersection of 83 and 18. Remove ice and snow from all windows, mirrors, and lights. Do not drive too fast for the conditions. Use your headlights. Don’t use cruise control as you need to maintain control of acceleration and deceleration at all times. Remember 4-wheel drive doesn’t work on ice! Most importantly, give yourself extra time to drive to and from school safely, and go slowly, avoiding dramatic starts, stops or turns!

This brunch, provided by KM culinary students, will bring KM staff and area First Responders together to celebrate the holiday season and our long history of partnership. When: December 19th from 10 am - 1 pm Where: KM High School Culinary Kitchen B20 (hallway) Culinary students will select recipes, budget their meal plan, prepare dishes, and serve brunch at stations. Mr. Loebel's KMAP students will deliver food to dispatchers. KM Perform students will create portraits to decorate the hallway and band students will be playing holiday music throughout the luncheon. Fundraising will support the food purchased to prepare the meal. POST SECONDARY INFO NIGHT AT KMHS!!! Thursday Nov 30th, the High School Counseling team held a Post Secondary Information Night with representatives from the UW System, as well as Wisconsin private colleges and technical schools. We also had representatives from the military, Xello, ACT, and scholarship opportunities. We had a great turn out with over 150 people in attendance! This was a wonderful event to help guide high school students as they plan for the future.
